Ask the organiser or check a website to see if an event is cancelled or postponed.

Hi Chaps, I desperately need your help !!! As many of you will know, I organise the stand for the DLOC and have been fortunate to have bee able to secure an 1897 Daimler 4 1/2 Hp Waggonete and have also have an early Lanchester promised by the JDHT ( subject to being able to get volunteers to help get it there ) ,so my next problem, and this is the one where I hope one of you chaps can help is, I would really love to have a very early BSA to complete the " set" .
If anybody out there can oblige ,please do get in touch with me ASAP , here are my contact details ;-

Alan.wheatley63@gmail.com

or Tel :- 01935-420168 ( Yeovil Somerset)

This show is of course held at the "Royal Bath & West Show-ground" nr Shepton Mallet Somerset
Best wishes A'l
Ps I believe that this would be the first time since this show began 37 yrs ago, that any stand has been able to offer such early cars for display ! ! A'l

Well Chaps, I am very happy to be able to announce that I have managed to secure an early Lanchester from JDHT, this will sit very nicely alongside the 1897 Daimler Waggonette .
I was hoping to be able to also secure an
early BSA , but it just seems impossible ,so I have given up on that one, it's a great shame because BSA's seem to be very much in the background ,and I would have liked to had one on display.
This incidentally, is the first time in the circa 37 yrs of this show that Two very early cars have been shown, and in fact, the Daimler is certainly the oldest car ever displayed there , so if you are able to get to the show, then do come onto the DLOC stand for a view of the cars and a chat with Old A'l ,you may even get a cup of Tea/ Coffee and a biccy if your lucky !!

cheers for now A'l

Hi Darren, well after making contact with Julian Ghosh, who is in the VSCC, I am hopeful that he may be able to help me with an early BSA . It has always been my intention to try and "promote" not only Lanchesters but of course our BSA counterparts as they do not seem to get as much publicity as they deserve, so I thought that it was about time someone should try to do something positive !
I will keep you posted when I know more.

Best wishes A'l

Hi Chaps , not long to go now before the Classic Car Show at Shepton Mallet, I'm actually on holiday on the Isle of Wight as from today ( Monday 13th) and am returning to the mainland early Friday afternoon. I then have to get back to Yeovil in Somerset ASAP, as I have to help the owner of the 1897Daimler to load it onto his Box trailer, then transport it to Shepton , get both the Daimler & Lanchester into position, complete the set up of the stand hopefully before they close for the evening, so all in all , it's going to be a very busy day ! !

Cheers A'l

A nice day out, not too damp and strange to see my car photographed. Even made it home before the rain. Longest journey in about 10 years

Hi Chaps, well, what a stupendous weekend !! Colin Gosney's 1897 Daimler Wagonette claimed 1st prize in the Veteran/ Vintage class, and the 1901 Lanchester entered by Eric Baptiste claimed the 2nd prize in the same class. Many thanks goes to Colin ,Eric and indeed the Jaguar Heritage Trust for their invaluable assistance in supplying the Lanchester for the DLOC stand .
It was really great to meet up with some of our new members, and of course those of you whom I have had the pleasure meeting on previous occasions.

Best wishes, A'l

Hi John, could you send those pictures to me direct please, Jonathan Partridge who is the "Vehicle Collection & Communications Manager" has asked me to send him some photos of the Club stand for inclusion into his next newsletter. I am hoping that I can persuade JDHT to "Lend" me a couple of the cars from their collection for next years event.

Cheers A'l
