Old Lanchester literature

Post by mjlong »

I am having a clearout of my old car files. Several years ago, I owned a Lanchester LA10, and accumulated some old documents relating to the car, which are no longer of interest to me.

The first is a small booklet entitled 'Tyres for Lanchester owners', probably produced by Dunlop in 1938. The booklet is in as new condition, possibly a modern reprint, but nonetheless interesting. It gives fitting and pressure details for the Lanchester models available in 1938, how to set the wheel alignment and where to get Dunlop tyres.

The second is a letter from Newton & Bennett, manufacturers of telescopic dampers, to a A W Whiterton in response to an enquiry about fitting telescopic dampers to a 1934 LA10 Sports coupe. It includes typical details of adaptor brackets for various cars, but the company is unable to supply brackets for the LA10.

While I have no further interest in these documents, I am reluctant to simply throw them out. If anyone is interested, I do not want anything for them, except the postage cost, but a donation for my favoured charity (Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance) would be appreciated.
You can send me a message through this forum. I will send photos or further details on request.

Hi Mike
Unless our Lanchester 10 Registrar would like them I’ll take them for the club’s literature library. That way they will be available for all to enjoy.
I will email you my address and happily reimburse you and make a donation.
Thank you
