Looking at the engine bay from the nearside view I noted that the starting handle and jack handle are missing but there do not seem to be clips for them anyway.
There seems to have been an adaptation of one "air silencers" into the cross engine box but what's below it is puzzling. Is it possible, with a little ingenuity, to make such an air cleaner assembly again? However, what would be the source of the round "tub" on the nearside of the engine? Do SS cars have an oil bath cleaner?

Hi John,

If that is the seller who was parting out engine bits, yes. I understand that the car was a hearse and he has wrecked it and selling off parts. he had the engine rocker cover and oil cap for sale as one lot and manifold and carb set up as another.
Some electrical parts etc also as separate lots.
His postage prices to Australia were frightening!
If I can find the link I'll post it.
Cheers
Peter Grant

Here is a link to that seller with the DE36 bits:

Hopefully he may have the air cleaners. And yes, he is the one in New York.

Cheers

If you try the copy and paste routine it should take you to the site but as it's just under $800,000 it might discourage most of us.
If the blurb is to be believed should that not be "one of the 7" or "one of the 4", as it claims only 7 made and 4 known to survive. If I won the lottery jackpot this would be in my car house (as I would then "have a few bob to spare").
I think they are gorgeous.

I was referring to the 205 DE36 chassis not this particular model. I am well aware that these cars were produced in very few numbers

Yes, I see. Sorry to question you.

Given the size of the chassis I wonder why the only variants from limousines or hearses were the few "Green Goddess" style bodies. There was the Lancefield car built as an ambulance but apart from the few 'Allweather" cars of which Peter Grant has one why did no-one else do something special?
The Thirties style car at the rally built by Alan Toomer was a sight to see. He had put a lot of thought and considerable effort into producing that car yet he has disposed of the wooden buck he made as he couldn't find anyone that wanted it.
The DE27s could be had as ambulances, albeit with a different rear axle and some were even longer than the DE36s to become DH27s yet the DE36s had fewer variants
