Daimler Sportsman for Sale

Post by Barrie »

I'm quite interested in this Sportsman.
Does anyone know anything about it?
I had thought that only one 4 1/2 litre preselector version survived due to strain on the gearbox.
Is this it or are there more?

MEA registration, West Bromwich from May 1955.
How many of these left around? Can't be many.

Barrie,
Check the engine has been swopped for a 3.5 (One -0 Four) unit. All should have been recalled and changed as you are right, the 4.5 was too powerful for the box.

Was that 4.5 used in any other model?

Wasn’t it used in the DK400/Regina limousines?

It's listed as a four and a half litre so perhaps we should assume it is. Would that make it a liability? Did Daimler issue the recall to downsize the engines Neil?
