Hi,
Found this for sale in Arizona, a log way from Glasgow where it appears to have spent some time. Chassis number 54750. At first I thought it was the Barker bodied version but having looked my copy of the Daimler Tradition I think its a Tickford bodied car. Picture on page 133.
Does anyone know how many of these were made with a Tickford body? I don't recall seeing too many at shows.
USD 29k appears a bit steep given it looks like it needs a bit of love. Wonder if he will take 15?!

This is a Barker not a Tickford.
Tickford built 25 Two door DHC's , I know of only 13 survivors.
See my article in the recent Nov 2017 Driving Member.

Thanks Dennis - I will take a look.
Re: 1950 d18 Tickford drop-head coupe reg HGE 326
trigger happy on the send button. What are the principle differences?
Re: 1950 d18 Tickford drop-head coupe reg HGE 326
The main differences:
On the Barker the raised line of the panel along the top of the doors runs down towards the rear wing but curves back whilst on the Tickford it is a nice sweeping line running straight down to the rear wing. The Tickford boot has hinges at the top and opens upwards whilst the Barker boot is hinged at the bottom and opens downwards. The dashboard and door trims of the Tickford were finished with Burr Walnut Veneer. The Tickford hood was always fully lined. The general finish of the Tickford gave the impression of being more expensive.

Thanks for sharing Dennis...I'll know what to look for next time. If I had space I'd get one of each!

I now wish that I had not parted with mine in 1998. A lovely car and the DB18 is very easy to work on.

I understand that feeling...explains why I have ended up with a barn full of various Daimler projects! Always room for another though. Anyone reading this know what the last one of these in comparable condition sold for in the UK?
