Five SP250s For Sale - USA

Post by Mike0Ryan »

This gaggle of SP250s is only a hour drive from me:

https://seattle.craigslist.org/oly/cto/ ... 17701.html

It surprises me that so many of these have been surfacing recently.

Wow that's a find, but I bet Laurence Jones knows all about them. $65,000 looks cheap.

Looks like a professional workshop, not like the usual casual restorers workshop, nice facilities, wonder why he has given up on them.

Does Jim Carey know about these or maybe they are his?!

Am sure Laurence would like the chassis numbers anyway.

I was also sent the info on these this am.. if anyone wants to have them checked out contact me.. If the seller is willing to sell the cars separately OR of someone on this site buys the lot and is willing to sell excess parts Im always looking for engines and engine parts..
PS there are another 3 for sale in Northern ca ..the owners sold one via bay late last year.. the description and images can be seen on the 'bring a trailer site'..the car is black ..I think, also was posted on here.. sold very reasonably given its overall soundness. thanks (tim.trevithick@yahoo.com)

Just an observation but these cars seem to be somewhat cheap at around £47,500 (£9500 ea). Before some commercial profiteer buys and ships the lot back here has any one thought of a DLOC member based co-operative / buying syndicate. I was amazed how low cost shipment could be in discussion on another forum. However in the inspection costs etc.has to be either a UK expert travel to US or costs of survey by US "expert" and recognition of the scheme manager etc.

Personally could invest in such a syndicate if given forward resto/development plan resulting in restored SP250's at "investor proportioned + costs" or open market resale at financial return on same basis

I am in no way a SP250 expert or fully market aware of this car.

Would be interested in comments of other members

Regards to all

Howard
