Laurence said "Not really Steve, It isn't that clear where the "A" to "B" spec cars are divided. There were "B" spec cars going out in the Autumn of 1960 whereas the company 'officially' released in the Spring of 1961. Also for overseas markets, one bought an SP then 'loaded' it with whatever extras/options one fancied. It was only here (UK) that a B/C was offered but later those categories were extended to the 'Commonwealth' countries as these were RHD markets.
Since we have been collating pasSPort and the input from the forum, we are getting a clearer picture of when the "B" came into being. Which today we refer to the upgraded chassis with full "A" post hoop et al
In the same manner we are building a picture of when the door scallops ceased.
Laurence" in http://archive.dloc.co.uk/forum/topic.a ... hichpage=2 page 2 of 11 pages!

You will have to ask him if he has got a clearer picture of when the B spec came into being.

RE: Bogged Down

Re-reading old forum posts spools up an alarming, déjà vu like, awareness of how much by-passes memory's recall circuitry these days.
With Mercy's escort that awareness quickly fades and is replaced by the joy of wallowing in "newly discovered" Anorakian knowings.

So far the highest chassis/body configuration with scallops is:

chassis no: 100191
body no: 737-0241 LHD
19 Feb 1960

chassis no: 100641
body no: 737-0273 RHD
22 March 1960

Laurence

So, we have scallops still appearing 180 Darts into the first LHD batch and 71 Darts into the first RHD batch.
Perhaps that first run was 250 pairs of doors. "It's a good, round number."

Oh, Laurence, where have you gone Joe DiMaggio ?
