And I've found another ad in the German portal "mobile.de". For sale is a very good looking 1966 Daimler Majestic Major Saloon in the Netherlands.

Here is the feedback I got from the sellers:
"The Daimler looks good from inside, but from the outside the doors are not closing very well. All four doors are a not equal. And the paintwork could be better done. But it drives good [..]. The only thing is the rear shift will take a while sometimes. Sometimes it goes in a second, sometimes you have to wait a before he gets it."

"Rear shift" probably means "reverse gear". Any thoughts what the problem with the automatic gear box could be?

Car looks decent in the images.. in reply to the info posted by Beat Weibel :- the gearbox on these cars is the same unit as used in the contemporary Jaguars to approx 1966 ..a Uk made Borg Warner 'DG250'.. its generally a robust unit but not very efficient by todays standards.. they tend to develop various leaks with age ..the lazy shifting into reverse and second is likely an oil pressure problem within the gear box.. probably choked up with crud internally.. usually this condition can be improved by removing the gearbox sump and cleaning filter and valve body ..( 4-5 hours of work and a few gaskets required)
