Daimler DB18 2500cc 6-Cylinder Automatic Ltd - Aston Martin Tickford Drophead Coupe

Registered 14/4/1949

Extremely rare

Only 5 private previous owners.
All names and addresses are listed in the original buff log sheet.

I have personally owned the Daimler for the last 40 years.

MOT History goes back to April 1974 when the mileage was then 24916. Mileage now: 30642.

For the first 30 years, it had only 5 private owners listed. And 4 Daimler dealership garages.

The mileage recorded is quite possibly correct.

During my ownership of 40 years, the Daimler has been on display in a heated museum. Only coming out for Daimler shows and family weddings.

The overall condition is just amazing. With original body and interior, and mechanics.

New hood fitted a few years ago. Engine runs silky smooth. Its time now to move it on for a new owner to enjoy.

Excellent value for this unique Daimler Cabriolet.
Must be seen to be appreciated.

More pics here:

I should think any drophead DB18 is rare, but there are currently 2 on ebay:

1949 KYN 131 Daimler DB18 2.5 drophead.

Condition notwithstanding, I think Barker's coachwork would get my vote.

Nice car but would have preferred to see it in an original colour, which was almond Green or Desert Sand, both ex-army colours.

Only 25 were built of which there are only 12 known survivors in the Salmons Tickford Register.

Tickford was not part of Aston Martin where these cars were built.
