v8-250

Post by pflanaga »

I dont know if this is appropriate to post this here, but I have a Jaguar v8-250 that I need to get rid of or my wife will get rid of me. Any advice?

The car is in Canada, a RHD, original sunroof, alll the bits intact but has a lot of rust. at 66K miles the Daimler V8 engine likely needs a refit.

Hi Paul, I presume you mean a Daimler V8 250?
It will also help if you were to put a bit more detail and some photos, price, is it a rare manual overdrive for instance? Syd

With regard to advice to your wife I'm not sure I understand what the problem is.
However, clearly from your description the car will need some work to fix the rust. You haven't given much of a description of where the rust is but usually it will be floors, sills (rocker panels), bottoms of the doors and wings (fenders). I'm sure you can find skilled people in Canada that can do the work for you. RHD is not too much a problem although it might take a bit of getting used to driving next to the sidewalk and overtaking can be a bit problematic when pulling out into the path of any oncoming traffic. The engine is relatively straightforward too, there are some specialists who can do the work for you or if you have the skills and tools then all the parts you need are available. Provided you've got the time and money it would be a worthwhile restoration project, one I'm sure you would enjoy and then have the pleasure of the car for a long time afterwards.

Hi, I think the most important part of his post is , either the car goes , or the wife, don’t think that restoration is a “Priority “ or an “Option” for him !!! 😂😂😂😂😂

Cheers Al 😊😊
