Supplied to a Mr F.O.Taylor of Essex by Jessups Ltd, Romford, it is one of only 2,100 such cars produced between 1950 and 1954. The original dealer invoice and receipt on file shows a price of £1,047 17s/9d. Mr Taylor subsequently moved to Bournemouth where the history file shows it was cared for by Spinks Garage of Poole Hill.

In 1965 it was sold to Mr Bishop of Bridport who kept and ran the car for 35 years and had a major refurbishment carried out in 1988 including removal of the body, before selling to Mr Bell of Glastonbury in 2000. It subsequently spent some time in Ireland where it had a further two owners before the vendor purchased it in 2014. There are 3 albums of receipts and bills dating back to 1951 showing a great deal of care and expense as been lavished on this car by its owners.

It comes with its original handbook and its toolkit is still present. It has had new tyres and a battery and the vendor intends to put it through an MOT prior to the sale although it doesn't need one.

All in all this is a lovely example of this much underrated marque in running, ready to drive condition, in search for a new custodian.

LATEST: Lanchester now has a full years MOT.

Well spotted Darren.
Just goes to show you can’t trust anybody to get it right.

Also, I note Brightwells say it has been in the current ownership since 2014. I wonder if that is a mistake as the car seems to have been sold at auction on 29th Jan 2016 when it sold for £1998 + buyers premium. Here is the link:
