There are a lot of 1934/35 features for it to be 1933.

Hi, this is the one that I suggested that Mike Andrews should take a look at on eBay , my observations included, Door Cards incorrectly fitted, should be held in position with hidden fixings, not Screws on the outer surface ! Wood trim absent from around Sliding Roof aperature, trim around Rear Window, should be hidden under the Head Lining ,not on top of it , also just spotted, that this car does not carry any Rear Reflectors, surely a legal requirement?
Will take a look at my records and try and verify likely production date via my list of Chassis No’s
Mikes now about to look at rather nice LA 14/2 , that’s for sale by a friend of mine, now I know who is selling the LA 10,I’m rather glad that I directed him elsewhere !
Cheers A’l

Hi Chaps, well this is very intriguing ! I have just taken a l@@k at my records, and this is what I have found:-
JU 5051 1st reg 01/07/1934
Chassis No 24366
Engine No 70622
Lanchester Chassis No's according to the information I received many years ago were as follows:-
LA10 Chassis No's for 1933 ran from:- 15000 - 20554 >>>>> 1934, :- 20555 - 2405 >>>>>1935 :- 24057 - 25311
So, it would appear that JU 5051 actually has a Chassis No dating from 1935 ?? If the information I have re Chassis dating, is correct !! [/color]
Your comments would be most welcome !
Cheers A'l
PS. What year did LA's change from a split centre folding Bonnet to the later one piece type shown on this car ??

Re: Lanchester LA10 reg JU5051 1933
August 1934 (according to Chris Clark) is supposed to be when the "B" series of Lanchester 10s with the 3 piece bonnet were 'on show'. There is so much on this car that is 34/35 season and not 32-34. I've had both types of cars and this one says "1934/35 season" so much and nothing that's 1933. As I recall things, the makers brought out new cars in the autumn for the next year so a car bought in late 34 could be a "1935 season" model. The part that puzzles me is why the ad says so much about 1933 and how that squares with the car we see in the pictures.
The body has all the revised Mulliner details- quarterlights, all rubber running board covers, indented door panels, full width tool box. harmonic stabiliser front bumper and the later type luggage carrier. However, so does the chassis in that it has the radiator grille with the (missing) starting handle cover compared with the earlier inverted U type, the change speed lever on the r/h side of the steering column, the twin Hobson's telegauge for both petrol and water temperature, the twin bobbin cut out box, "Lanchester" across the wheel centres and 18 inch wheels rather than 19 inch ones.
I'm not going to say I can tell you exactly to the day when the change over was for each of these - I can't - but they all add up, as I see it, to the car being middle/ late 1934 at the earliest. It could be one of the very first revised models if your first registration date is correct, which I don't doubt, but the chassis number date question is interesting. Unfortunately I don't remember the chassis number of the one I had, it used to be WS3278, but it was the exact same model as JU is.
