That time of year again...

Post by Simon Hyslop »

It's the time of year for elderly vehicles to be kicked out of their warm homes and suffer the indignity of being put up for sale before the winter. For anyone looking for a Lanchester, it looks like a fairly good crop of vehicles for sale just now with rather an attractive looking 11 for sale at £7950,a Mark 1 Roadrider at £6995 , the 1939 14 that's been up for sale for a while coming up for auction on Saturday, (all on Car and Classic) the rather nice1934 LA10 that's been on the go at £12500 and an LD10 at £6495 both on Ebay.

Quite a choice and a range of prices but it is barely into September and one has to wonder what may be on the market in a month or two given that prime autumn disposal time hasn't yet arrived. Hopefully they may all find good new owners who have an interest in the make rather than just being a cheap old car. After all, a mint Mark 1 Ford Cortina or Mini Cooper would have the same money in it as the whole lot of them put together. It really can't be right , can it ?
