In the words of Victor Meldrew "I do not believe it, I do not believe it". What a classic. I just can not stop bidding. I think lockdown has finaly got to me.

I can not make up my mind, is the coachwork by Charlesworth or Abbot. Certainly not Mulliners. Just love it. Frenchy

I console myself with this thought, often, which is based on the market for all sorts of collectables. In the longer term, the only old cars which will be worth any proper money and are worth keeping are those which are as close to how they left the factory as they can be. We may go through a phase of "specials" being worth stupid money but while most of us may not live to see it, eventually whatever market there is will be for the best of the best as originally built. Unfortunately, by that time they won't be seeing the road much which is a shame but carbuncles like these will at least have gone to the great junk heap in the sky.

If you took this to a scrapyard they would probably want you to pay a fee before they let you leave it there.

Have just realised it sold for £11,500 so someone will give it a good home.

Surely it's the "Lanchester LD10 Rolling Chassis" (with half a Triumph Renown body) which is being referred to as a Carbuncle ? That sold for £63 after 13 bids.
