Bodywork Trim

I am seriously considering the merits of having the bodywork trim stuck on using modern techniques instead of drilling holes along the rear wings, both of which have been replaced. Already going to have the V8 and 250 badges stuck on so thinking it is worth going the same way with the bodywork trim to reduce more potential rusting areas. It will meaning having the holes in other parts of the bodywork welding up but I think the benefits long term will make it worthwhile.
May leave the bonnet with the bolt on trim though, but that will be the only area.

Has anyone else gone with this idea and how tricky will it be to use the original trim?
