This car has had many forums pulling their hair out to identify it.
Kit car forums. specialist forums have no idea
The only clues are its on Oxford Street London sometime between 1960 and 1966 ( got that from a bus enthusiast)
So anyone on here have any guesses?

Re: Is this a 250 'special'?
Interesting body. It appears to have 'gullwing' doors and looks more american to me than european. If it's a special or a kit car the origin of the windscreen is usually a giveaway since it's expensive to manufacture a one off. Production cars from the '60's having Panoramic screens with a forward raked screen pillar are quite rare in the UK - Vauxhall spring to mind - but were more common in the US, C1 Corvette for example
One possibility is that it was a one-off (or heavily modified) creation of the american 'Fibrefab' company. The body lines are certainly unlike any of the standard models produced by Fibrefab , but they did produce several different cars from 1957-63. Many were designed to fit TR3, TR4, MGA or Healey 3000 chassis - and Fibrefab did produce bodies with gullwing doors.

Is it not the Reliant Sabre 6 GT? though the screen seems to be from a Vauxhall Cresta, it also is similar to the Harrington Alpine le Mans at the rear

Some kind soul on another forum has kindly removed the ladies in front of the car...
...leaving a rather improbable door line?
Also the original pic gives more clues to the venue...
...anyone remember being there and seeing the car?

Re: Is this a 250 'special'?
Definitely not a Sabre . The windscreen looks to me as though a rear window has been used , possibly from a PA Cresta. The rear end looks like Harrington Sunbeam as Ian has said, but isn't, although it also resembles a Trident, but isn't ! The trouble is there were dozens of fibreglass specials offered in the late 50s / early 60s , mostly Ford E93 based , although I don't remember one like this. The thing which interests me is the bonnet , which looks as though it is a one-piece lift up type, and that brings a Herald chassis to mind

A Herald chassis brings us back to a Bond which utilised Herald and Vitesse running gear.

It does seem to be a bitsa, one piece bonnet, (error on the photoshop removal of the two women, in assuming it was a door line) gull wing doors, SP A spec rear bumper at the front, SP full hub caps, and MK 1 Alpine rear fins. The car could have been a Harrington prototype, in the 60's you could buy enough fibre glass and resin for £20 to make a mould and a body with a bit of skill and cut and shunt moulds from various cars used as a plug, the windscreen could be front or rear PA Cresta screens, many of these one off specials looked great outside but the interior was a mess of leather cloth and Evostic, my best guess it is a product of either Harringtons or one of their workers on a weekend moonlight, not unkown in those days and Harrington were not strict on what their more enlightened workers did in their spare time in the factory.

I do vaguely remember the Bond, and I agree that it probably is.

Possibly not quite a Bond, the wheel arches are different, and the bonnet.

Just consider the polution generated by all those big diesels in the photo!
What a pity the photographer fidn't wait a second more.
Pretty car for the time though?
