Car Transporter

Post by Warsash 2 »

Hi
I have decided to have the engine in Margaret's SP rebuilt. As I am too old and infirm to take the engine out I decided to have the car transported from the south coast to Leeds so David Beales could work his magic on it. We would have had a round trip of 300 miles and an overnight stay in Leeds so I was amazed that the transport cost was £235, that is probably cheaper than taking it up ourselves.
The firm I used was Anyvan.com. They were delayed on the way down Dewsbury as ours was a reverse load but still did in a day. Had a little difficulty in loading due to the lack of ground clearance but everything went well.
I checked with Peter James insurance and the confirmed my comprehensive insurance covered not only the transporting but also whilst it is with David, although he is insured as well.
Regards
Colin

That was a cracking deal ! Probably due to the each way loads. It may be that you were a back load bonus for the transporter.
I was charged just shy of £700 to have a non runner picked up in Hawick and delivered to leeds. It was excellent service from garage to garage down awkward drives but the load was only one way.
Colin,
I may be slow but I’m rough as well !

Hi
Today was the day that was originally going to be when I started the journey to Davids'. It makes the decision look even better. I think I should have done the lottery that week!
Regards

Colin
