Alternative heater connections to V8
Alternative heater connections to V8
My Daimler V8 powered TVR does not have a heater currently. I have bought a T7 3.5kW heater that I am plumbing into the engine. Originally the engine has heater take offs and return at the front, however the heads on both banks are identical just swapped around. They therefor have the blanking plugs at the back of them. What I am considering is using on of these blanking plugs as a take off for the heater to clean up the engine bay. I am building a new intake so will not need the intake coolant connection anymore. What my concern is is to tap into only one head possibly leaving that bank on the V8 running cooler? Should that be a concern/problem. Should I tap into both heads and then join them before connecting the hose to the heater to even out the 'load'? Return will be to the front as stock.

Re: Alternative heater connections to V8
would be better to connect both, the back of the engine runs a lot hotter than the front so should give you a good heater also smooth out the cooling in the engine a little better. Haven't forgotten your photo's Niels just trying to get them taken.
Re: Alternative heater connections to V8
Thanks Russ, will look into connecting to both heads so that the 'load' evens out and lets the heads operate at the same temperature.
