Does anyone know what colour these are supposed to be painted. Looks like they might have been painted body colour?

Mine are....but then there was a minor problem with the front end in the 70's. so I guess this may not be the way they started life.

Simon, when we met at Malvern last year, your engine was defunct. Are you now back up and running?
Would be interested to know how it was repaired.
Dave.

Re: SP 250 Bonnet and Boot stay rods.
Thanks for the interest Dave. Previously the sleeves per pinned with screws which were unsuccessful and allowed them to go oval and move. The engine has now been rebored again and fitted with top hat sleeves. John Powell was kindly able to supply a set of new standard pistons which was a great help. Lots of other issues sorted too.
Ray Jensen did a great job as always doing the work and I sourced parts etc. The overdrive was in quite a mess (although still working) and this has been rebuilt too. Had several trips out since and covered a few hundred miles and it has been great to be behind the wheel again. Now sorting out all the year's events to attend and will be at St Ives and hopefully Malvern again.
Sadly the MG now need works - sills inner and outer on one side and new petrol tank - the work goes on as ever.

Good to hear you are up and running again.
Sounds like that would have been an expensive fix!
