Thats the way,
past history unknown can lead you up the garden path.You just have to make things fit .
I had reassembled one SP years ago and couldn't get one caliper centralised . -- turned out the mounting bracket had been reduced in offset ( as youve done ) but in this case it wasnt rqd. -- have that bracket in the spare parts bin for future use ( 15 years now and still waiting )
