Has anyone had any experience of shipping a car (V8 250) to USA? We’re wonderingexperting about using RoRo. Any info welcome!

I shipped my Dart from the UK to Australia RoRo and about 2 or 3 years later from Australia to the US, it shared a container for that trip.

No issues with RoRo would use service again.

I know only this company who are operating from Bremen in Germany.
I saw them on TV and they are specialist in classic car transport arround the world.
On the TV show I was amazed about how they do it. They handled very very expensive cars.
It might be worth a try.

there are a variety of choices for shipping agent.. but talk to and compare as many as you can.. the biggest 'cost' factor relates to destination port.. East coast considerably less than west coast (which means a trip though panama canal) as is 'roll on roll off' V containerised shipping..
my prefrence 30 yrs back used to be to ship ro/ro to a N/e Port such as Maryland.. and drive across to west coast from there. Ive experienced far more issues with containerized cars than ro/ro..(cars going back to Uk /Europe) Do make sure you have good shipping insurance coverage from a reputable insurance company..

Thank you. Yes I think we’re going for Ro/Ro. We’re headed for the East coast and then driving (we hope) the car to Alabama.

A couple of things from some recent experience:
1) Do not use containers. They create a microclimate which can be very detrimental to the car. In 2016 a Jensen Owners Club member shipped her Interceptor by container to the UK. During the 6 week journey (Newark to Norfolk to Charleston to Savannah to Le Havre to Hamburg to Rotterdam and finally to Southampton) it suffered quite badly and came out with rust breaking through. There is not a direct US - UK container service, the ship does a "round robin" voyage although after Southampton the next port is Newark so going to the US is quicker.
2) US Stevedores and US customs seem not to care too much. On the way out from the US her car was pulled for customs inspection. On arrival in the UK it was found caked in mud inside, the bonnet has been damaged as they didn't know how to open it and had forced it open and there was other physical damage.
3) On a more recent JOC US tour one member delivered his car back to the docks in the USA in perfect unmarked condition. He was using Ro-Ro service. It arrived at the docks here in the UK with quite a bit of damage and now needs a respray. The damage was caused in the docks before the ship got hold of it.

Make sure you have a very detailed set of pictures of your car. If you are returning the car to the UK, take another set of pictures as it is handed over to the dock authorities in the US, make sure the entire car is inspected and condition signed off.
