Mountain Blue

Post by migray »

On the old forum there is some discussion of the make up of the Daimler colour known as Mountain Blue. A few people mention they were trying to replicate it.
While there is a formulation for it on old paint chips I am not sure how to specify it in a way that my paint people can use.
The information I have for Daimler and Jaguar Metallics 68-73 states:
P030 Mixing Formulae
2049M Mountain Blue
017-404 50%
9999 10%
9915 9%
9930 8%
9905 3%
9930RT 20%

I don't know what the component mixing colours referred to are. Can anyone give me information which will help?

Thank you

Mike

I have a note that for Mountain Blue the code is UDA and the ICI reference is 2049M. Is this of any help?

Still not got sufficient information. I did find that the formula colours were :
Mountain blue is P030 - 2049M and it is made up of

Belco clear base P017-404 50%
Fine aluminium P030-9999 10%
Turkey oxide red P030-9915 9%
Blue lake P030-9930 8%
Monastral green - P030-9905 3%
Perhaps Blue Lake but not sure what the RT refers to? P030-9930RT 20%

I think P030 means it is a cellulose formulation.

Anyone have any more clues?
