Sunvisor screws

Post by keithj »

Having removed the sun visors before re trimming the headlining I can't refit them as the screws are now too short for the extra thickness of the material any suggestions where I could get some longer ones? Alternatively anyone know what thread they are?

Firstly - don't see whats funny about this informative info from OP?
I for one would be very pleased to hear from the OP how he has re-trimmed his headlining as I am contemplating just the same.
I have received a sample of some excellent headlining material. This would be placed to cover existing. However not sure what adhesive to use, and how to trim.

WRT screws whatever they wont be metric!! My suggestion is try 0BA

Regards

Yes it does sound like a very basic question but it seems that they screw into a captive nut so the thread is a bit important. I have been to my local hardware specialist who confirms they are A) old and B) not metric. No surprise there then, but also no answers either. Regarding the retrimming I used a guy in Newark who does an excellent job. Headlinings on these cars are not as straightforward as others (apparently) so I thought it best to use someone who knows what he is doing. Interestingly he was expecting to have to take both the front and rear screens out managed it without that.

Thanks for the help. I've just found that DMG stock them, so I am clearly not the first to need these !!
