The original factory made pickup tubes were plate, rolled and then soldered. I had a problem with a leak on mine which let in air on full power.
The pipes were of a very strange size and it required David Beales' expertise to identify and have the correct size threaded pipe. The two pipes go into a common block very close together.
I'd recommend to only have one pipe, who needs a reserve anyway?
