V8-250 Saloon: Starter Motor Cable

Hello.

I need to replace and make a starter motor cable for my V8-250 saloon, running from the solenoid to the starter.

Will 110amp 16mm2 copper highflex cable be sufficient or should I look at a higher amp capacity, perhaps 170amp rating ??

Any advice, gratefully received.

Thank you.

Richard.

Hi Richard
16mm2 is the correct size, I would use crimp connectors, You can make your own using a nut with a hole a bit smaller than the diameter of the lug, cut it in half, it may need a bit of filing then put the two halves of the nut around the lug in a big vice and compress.
This will give a very neat finish and saves the cost of a large crimp tool.
It is important to get the correct size lug for the 16mm2 flexible cable.
