Walmley Classic Car Radios

Hello,

I was hoping to drop off my "Philips Turnolock" car radio with Roger of Walmley Classic Car Radios at the NEC last month to have a modern upgrade installed - unfortunately he was not at his stand and in fact a replacement seller had been drafted in. Roger is based in the Sutton Coldfield area of Birmingham.

After the NEC and during December I have tried to phone Roger via mobile and landline, all to no avail and that includes leaving messages on both but again no response.

I am now starting to think he may have packed in his classic radio upgrade / restoration services; hopefully this is not as a result of poor health. If this is the case, that will be a great shame as I believe he was very good and decently priced.

If anyone has any information, it will be greatly appreciated.

In the meantime I am looking at some alternative companies offering this service.

Many thanks.

Richard.

Hello,
Just to update and conclude the thread, I have now made contact with Roger - all is good and he is still actively converting radios. Phew 😊 !!
Regards.
Richard.

Hello,

Further to my last entry, I have now been notified by Roger that he has retired. He did think about carrying on which overlapped my entry but since then things have changed.

Of note I have found a replacement business (located in Reading) that does exactly the same as Roger did and my understanding is that his workmanship is spot-on. I've sent my Daimler radio to him for a modern upgrade and will update the thread once I have it back and can report accordingly.

Many thanks.

Richard.
