Hi Mark

I echo Chris's recommendation of Heritage, so much so that we have all the old uns and moderns on one 'Family Fleet' policy, just one renewal charge pa, and the cost has barely changed for several years. Worth a call.

Regards

If you are thinking of travelling abroad then Hagerty does EU breakdown cover included. £140 ish per year with a 2000 mile limit, absolute bargain. You have to send off a mileage declaration every year as well as photos for the valuation.

Hi
Until now I would have recommended Peter James. I have 5 cars including 2 fairly modern ones with what I thought was 3 named drivers, Margaret, my 50 year old son and me. With this lock down thing I read the small print and found that my son was not included as a named driver for my XJ supercharged 4.2 litre Jaguar. When I asked for a quote to include him it was a 26% increase. I am not sure why he was not included when I swapped the V8 Daimler for the Jaguar and they cannot tell me. My son has never actually driven any of the cars as I only included him if we need to get the car home if either Margaret or I was incapacitated. Moral of the story don't just read the opening pages of the 10 page ofer.
Regards

Colin

My car is a Daimler 250, value about £20,000.

Does anybody have any recommendations? Or general advice?

At my age breakdown cover is desirable and we intend taking it at least as far as France.
Don't worry about this problem, First, go to the insurance company and renew your insurance paper by paying current insurance value and due amounts. For further details, use this site to clarify your insurance Write Off Check https://cardotcheck.co.uk/insurance-write-off of a car.

Pardon me if I am wrong but me thinks our Karen has joined the forum to promote her company/website cardotcheck.

Karen I am sorry if I do you an injustice, put it down to me being a grumpy old man, but I cannot see any other reason for your contribution.

I thought the same and was waiting to see if anyone was going to comment. At least it's a webpage relevant to motoring and not for something totally different.

That may be the case John, but it undermines those companies that are paying DLOC good money to advertise in the DM. If Karen wishes to promote her company / website then a call to the DLOC Advertising Officer is the correct recourse, rather than a freebie on the Forum, IMHO.

Just a small observation, a contributor with a single posting history to my rather reserved mind, is a bit like a cold caller and as such I would not click on an unknown website especially when the posting has a rather tenuous connection to original theme of the thread.

Maybe I am too suspicious.
