I've bought a Mk2 jag rear door regulator that looks like its had little use. I'm currently waiting for it to arrive so not sure what alterations will be required. It wasn't expensive so if it turns out to be totally unsuitable then it will bulk up the scrap pile :D
I'll report back soon-ish hopefully to let you know how its going.

Well the Mk2 Jag rear window regulator arrived yesterday. Absolutely of no use at all as no parts are compatible with the SP regulator. :( I'm sure I read somewhere that the Mk2 Jag regulator could be adapted but believe me it cant. I was hoping to be able to use the quadrant gear and the small drive gear in the SP regulator frame but no luck.
Oh well it was a education if nothing else. :)
Now off to Robert Grinter or Christian Demler to see what they can offer.

This problem was discussed at very great length on the old forum, try a search there and I am sure you will find what you need. Syd

i have a pair of MGB regulators you could have for the cost of postage.

They are from a 1966 car and have the square shaft to fit the handle. If you are interested I'll clean them up a bit and take a photo.

First of all Thanks very much Henry for the offer of the MGB regulators I'll look forward to receiving them.

I have managed to make a working regulator from the Jaguar rear window regulator however it was a lot of work and due to the Daimler regulator small drive gear being quite well worn I doubt if it will last very long.

Basically I managed to adapt the Jag gear quadrant to suit the Daimler assembly. The Jaguar quadrant is made from thinner material 0.092" as opposed to 0.130" for the Daimler quadrant also the axle to teeth centers are different. I had to alter the position of the axle center on the jag quadrant in order to bring the drive gear and quadrant teeth correctly into mesh.

I'm not sure if this is the way things had been done by others in the past? I guess using the MGB regulator is a far better option as I understand that the complete regulator can be used with little or at least some simple alteration work.

I'll post some photos when I can recall how to attach them.
