Conquest composite head gasket
My gasket set arrived from DB which is good. There are no "TOP" markings on the head gasket and no reference to which way round to fit it in the destructions. Does it matter? the two faces are different.

The plain side should face the cylinder head.

Re: Conquest composite head gasket
Thanks Neil but not sure I'd describe either side as plain. Both sides have a grey coating. One side has individual aluminium rings around the combustion chambers and the other side has the aluminium rings grouped in pairs.

Re: Conquest composite head gasket
Sorry. Not made myself clear.
By "plain" I mean the side where you can't see the "join circles" of the two pieces of metal. (they have a name which eludes me as I write)
The circles always go to the block side.
Cheers
