1935 daimler straight eight chassis 41279

Post by Marcus »

Evening all,

I was watching an episode of a US car show on Discovery channel one night and there was a fleeting glimpse of what could only be a large pre-war Daimler in the background. The garage in question is a famous custom shop so I dropped them an email and they replied to me. The car is a very down at heel Hooper bodied straight 8. It would appear to have been off the road because of a broken crankshaft but obviously that was a long time ago. I think the owner intends to replace the straight 8 with another US straight 8.
Not sure if this vehicle is on the appropriate register. There are some interesting pictures on the facebook link below which includes copies of correspondence with our own esteemed historian in 1975!
