thanks for the information. I have sent them an email and am waiting for their reply. I would love to attend an open day but am afraid, as one member put it, "my location" doesn't make this possible

With reference to Syd Smiths post I had never heard of Babbitt work either, so I did what all the kids do, I googled it!!!

Purely as a technical "follow-on" - I seem to recall from the dim and distant past that there is a limit (or possibly a mathematical ratio regarding bearing size) to the maximum thickness the white metal coating can be before it tends to "spread" under load.

Or am I getting confused as the years rush by??
