1/4 light disassembly

Post by Crossley Stephenson »

Trying to take apart the (DJ254) 1/4 light windows for chroming. Most of the screws respond to penetrene or heat but do you have to grind off the rivets holding the window lock (?) before removing the glass?

Help!

Michael

I had a look at my quarterlights and the catches seem to be riveted from underneath the frame. MGBs and Midgets seem to have a similar construction. This - http://msc.parts/contents/en-uk/d623_99 ... _MKII.html shows an exploded view of the midget quarterlight. However I have not yet tried to dismantle mine so perhaps someone else will have better information.
Have you sourced replacement seals for the quarterlights, mine would benefit from replacement?
