Thanks for the photos Chris, I am sure they will be very helpful, I do need to know a few more details, perhaps you or Henry can assist.
Where is the strap that holds the hood in the De Ville position fitted inside the car, I know that there is a stud on the chrome strip on the cant rail but I don't know where it fits inside, also how is the hood fixed to the rear two rails on the inside of the hood as there does not appear to be any way of fixing them on the remnants of the hood that came with the car.
Can you also give me approximate measurements of where the rear window is positioned above the chrome strip on the back, and how much overhangs the windows, both door and rear drop lights.
As I don't have the chrome strip for the rear can anyone also give me an approximate profile of it as I probably will have to have something made up to fit.
I know I am asking a lot of questions, but I have not been able yet to see one of these cars and I am totally working in the dark about most of this .Thanks for any assistance. Geoff

Hi Geoff,

Eventually managed to coordinate everything to get the photos.

Here are a selection. If you want to pm me your email address, i'll send them direct and maybe some more.
WP_20180127_11_02_10_Pro (1).jpg
This shows the two chrome strips that hold the hood material to the frame, running the full width of the hood.
WP_20180127_11_01_36_Pro.jpg
This chrome strip round the back of the cockpit is only used to hold the tonneau in place. More details available
WP_20180127_11_04_46_Pro.jpg
This shows how the hood fabric is held in place. It is sandwiched between the black rail and the body. This is lower than the chrome tonneau strip. Rain water collects in the low point of the hood and drains into the car behind the rear seat and then out through 2 drain holes/tubes through the boot. (Bizarre!)

This strap runs from the rear of the hood to the front rail. I guess it helps position the frame in the raised position.

More to follow.

Geoff, you asked about the straps to hold the hood in the De Ville position.
WP_20180127_11_02_45_Pro.jpg
This shows the 2 straps in their storage position. The outboard end is fixed (slightly loose) and the inboard end has a popper.
WP_20180127_11_03_13_Pro.jpg
This shows one strap released and hanging down ready to go round the folded front section of the roof. Left side of photo is bottom (this post doesn't seem to like portrait photos)
WP_20180127_11_03_28_Pro.jpg
Showing the poppers, one strap released.
WP_20180127_11_01_10_Pro.jpg
Once the front part of the roof is released and folded up (De Ville position) the strap comes from underneath and round the folded hood and pops onto the stud on the chrome strip.

I will get you a picture of the hood in this position when it stops raining.

Hi Geoff,

More photos.

These pins are for the end of the wire in the rear of the tonnea cover. The wire goes under the chrome strip.

Hi Geoff,

The car was restored in Australia and some details may not be original. The hood material is de-laminating, hence the bubbles / creases.

Final photos for today.
