Message from DB18 owner Axel

Post by John-B »

Hello John,

thanks for your email and the welcome of DLOC. Yesterday night I found this forum and I'm happy about the information the forum provides...

In January I bought my daimler and satisfied my dream to be an owner of an old british car. The car wasn't driven over the last two years and so there is some work to do, first in the technic, to get a german motor vehicle registration and therefore I need a certificate of general inspection.

Now I'm owner - so I hope to be soon also a driver of a wonderful Daimler - my car isn't in the condition to hide in a private museum, so there's no need to be perfect, but to be reliable. In the moment I've some trouble with the hydraulic front brakes and electric functions (whiper motor/switch, function of the horn ...) and what a surprise with oil leakage.

Best regards and in advance thanks for your work as admin - it's to me to improve my English - the DB 18 doesn't speak German too ... - I'll do my very best.

Axel
There are plenty of DB18 owners on this forum. DB18s have a preselector gear change so you will have to learn that it's a different procedure from driving cars with a clutch gear change.

Axel

Hope you enjoy the car !

There are plenty of experts on the Forum, so just ask.

Language is also not a big problem, as there are members who speak German.

There are db18 experts in your country too !
Good luck
