New shoes.

Post by Robdavies »

Greetings,
It's all about brakes in the workshop at the moment, my 37 Daimler 15 needs her shoes relining, does anyone have any recommendations of a good place to take them?
Also the car is equipped with Girling rod brakes and the long one attaching the front near side/passenger side to the pivot has sheared off at the threaded end.
Any thoughts on where I could get a spare,or better still someone who can make new ones ?
Cheers Rob.

Hi Rob.
In the box of bits I've sent there are the short rods attached to the actuators.
I used these guys for woven brake linings, much better than modern materials which are aggressive on the drums. They specialise in Classic and vintage stuff and are based in Bedfordshire.

Hiya Peter,
Great stuff thanks, I'm trying to get all the bits I need rounded up with suppliers listed before the big trek north hopefully this summer.
It's good to have a personal recommendation.
Cheers Rob.
