1935 Daimler Straight Eight

Living in HK does limit one's garage time but it does mean I get to watch some of the US cable TV car shows. I was watching one show called Slicks Garage which was focused on the restoration of a Mustang when I spied this in the background. I managed to get a shot of it with my camera. Picture quality obviously poor as its taken directly from the TV. I dropped the garage owner a line and he confirmed that it is a 1935 Daimler, believed to be a Straight Eight. The show was filmed in Arizona, a long way from Radford.
Anyone know the story of this car?
