Having had to drill the cylinder head studs out to remove the head can some one tell me the thread size please to clean up the block threads as they are a mess.

I think the originals are 3/8" BSW. I recently had to replace two of mine which were corroded into the block. They were 3/8" UNF (24 tpi) at the top and 7/16" BSW (20 tpi) at the bottom into the block. I made them up using a 7/16" high tensile bolt, cutting off the head and turning down and threading the BSW end.

Thanks Trevor, all this was caused by a stuck valve in the head, which has been a nightmare.
