Have a look at JEL Bearings. I used them last year and was very happy. Only downside is his waiting list! According to the website a 4 main bearing plus 6 big ends is about gbp1250.

No VAT is charged as his turnover is below the vat threashold.

It`s probably about eight years since I had the Special Sports engine bearings - main and big end - remetalled and the crankshaft ground, and from memory it was less than £1000. I know that there has been inflation since then, but Euro 3,855.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dave, I think it would be worth getting some UK prices to compare, because it might not be beyond the bounds of possibility that it would cost you less to get the ferry over and have a few days holiday whilst the work was done!!
Seriously, though, I should do some digging around. For example, there are some places in the north east of England that do white metalling, and it will probably be cheaper in the north than in the south east of England (where all the money is!!!) so you could get the ferry from Zeebrugge to Hull.
I didn`t mention the people who did my engine, because I know that they get the white-metalling done by someone else, but they arranged it all and reground the shaft. They are in York, which is very near Hull, so it might be worth contacting them and seeing if they can still organise the white metal. https://www.bestenginesyork.co.uk/home

From Matthew Waterhouse:
"I had the Lanchester 14 engine ground, white metalled and bored for about £700. All done in Coventry not 10 miles from the NEC"
