DJ254 starter motor

Post by Crossley Stephenson »

Ok, here's the story...when I bought the DJ254 the engine was out, the gearbox separated and lots of bits in boxes or missing. I found a starter motor Lucas M418G which accords with the book. It's been rebuilt but when I come to reinstall I find that it has a 3 hole flange whereas the back plate only has two holes - does this matter? It fits Ok.

Comments, suggestions, advice.

No problem, Michael, your starter’s 2-bolt fitting is fine. I had a DB18 with the same set up.
