DJ 254 NDHC Carpets

Post by Pendle »

I am about to tackle making new carpets for my NDHC. I have two questions:

- My existing front carpets, which I am sure are not original, extend from above the pedals to about the back of the seats and have the seat rails bolted through them. Is this the correct pattern? (my other Conquests have carpets which go part way back along the seats and are edged neatly around the seat rails).

- Is there a source for replacements for the rubber strips which go along the floor at the door openings and hold down the carpet edges?

The rubber to retain the carpet edge is sold by C O H Baines as IRS 0883EP.
2 Metre should be enough.
I suspect other suppliers have the same section.

As far as the carpet arrangement is concerned I am not sure what the fit was originally. Mine fits above and around the pedals but has some turnbuckles to hold it in place.

The carpet on my car is cut and bound around the seat runners which looks "right" .

Mike,

Thank you. How far back does your front carpet go - does it go the full length of the seats?

A few photos of my carpets but I don't know how they compare to the originals.

Mike,

Thank you. I suspect that yours are the original pattern or close to it. They follow the general shape of other Conquest carpets I have seen.
