Century 1954 water leaking into cabin

Hi all,

Does anyone have experience leaking water into the car's cabin? When washing the car or during rain, water enters the cabin. This is one door (front left), water flows down the upholstery inside the cabin. I haven't even split the door because I have a new upholstery. It probably won't be left. Did anyone solve this problem or does anyone have any advice?
Thank you very much.

Suri

Hi Suri,

The Conquest and Conquest Century have a propensity for the windscreens to leak around the bottom corner - the answer to which is to inject mastic under the rubber seal.

Also, there are small wedge-shapped rubber fillers either side of the door hinges which can come adrift - so check for them being in place.

Check the fit of the window frames in the apperture - as these are adjustable once you have removed the upholstery panel.

Try putting a light smear of grease around the door apperture then closing the door and then seeing where it has not wiped off onto the rubber seal as that will be a candidate for leaking in.

Hi Stan,

thank you for your advice. I'll try to check the recommended places. The upholstery must go down, this is necessary. Thank you once again.
