Majestic major cylinder head removal

Post by Marcus »

Hoping a forum member can remind me as to whether it’s possible to remove the drivers side head without removing the steering column for an engine in situ removal of cylinder head. It must be 20 years since I last did this job and I can’t remember whether it’s possible or not.
Thanks...

The couple of times I've done it either the engine was out or the steering column was off; I think it would be very tight.

I think it is possible but only if you remove the head studs first thus permitting you to slide the head off, rather than lift it off
