That’s interesting observation about the fuel starvation problem which is common on the DB18.
I’ve a U type fitted and never suffered.

Thanks for everyone's helpful replies.

I have a U Type fitted on my car, which I suppose isn't surprising as its a late model, 1950. All going again now, but I had a little trouble with the Fuel Pump which I though might be helpful to someone, if I described it here.

After replacing the inline filters on the fuel lead I primed the system by hand with the little lever at the bottom of the Fuel Pump. The car ran for 30 secs then stopped because of lack of fuel. I repeated this half a dozen time with the same result. Eventually I found that if, after hand priming the Fuel Pump I left the little lever UP, the Fuel Pump did not work. Once I had left it with the lever DOWN the car sprang into life.

You guys probably all know this, but I did not. I hope someone finds it helpful.

That’s odd, because the lever should be fitted with a return spring to prevent this. Maybe the spring is missing or the lever’s action is tight.
