1951 DB18 Consort steering box

Post by GrahamH »

Does anyone know how the steering box comes out of the car, is it up through the interior or out from underneath? (Is there a guide anywhere) Also I’m assuming that it’s all one piece with the column attached, I can’t see how it would split so only the box itself is removed?

Any help and advice greatly appreciated

Thanks all

Graham

Graham: as per my reply in you previous topic " One week of Ownership" , the recommended procedure is for the steering box to be removed, complete with column, via the interior of the car. David Beales' DB18 workshop manual, which can be purchased from his eBay shop, includes the procedure.
