Car with no V5 / log book

Post by Sporty »

Good afternoon all,

I'm Steve from Cardiff and I'm new to the forum as well as being a Daimler owner for the first time. I've had a look if there's a 'new member' section, as some forums mandate that you introduce yourself there first. But, as I can't see one, I assume it's ok for me to post here.

I have a quick question, as per the title. I have bought a car for restoration, a Daimler 25 V8 1967, which unfortunately does not have a V5 with it. The chassis plate is present and readable, and also the original number plate is attached to the car. I contacted the DVLA, and was told that I would need to fill in two forms (v765 and v55) and that the v765 needed verification from this club. I've searched everywhere on the forum and on the dloc website, but I cannot find any mention of it. I'm sure I'm not the first to request this, so could somebody please direct me to the correct person/page/form.

Many thanks in advance.

Steve

Thank you for your reply John-B. I have been in conversation with Laurence Jones of DLOC, who has been incredibly helpful in guiding me through, and explaining in full, the process of re-registration.
