I had another thought:

The whole issue with the flickering oil warning light started after I tried to seal the leaking electrical connection of the oil pressure switch with a rubber washer.

1. First of all I think there shouldn´t any oil be coming out of the electrical connection at all. Oil coming out means that the membrane could have become leaking. Correct?
2. By sealing the electrical contact with the rubber washer, oil was prevented from leaking along the electrical connection. But on the other hand, stopping the oil flowing out the sensor housing increased the oil pressure on the "electrical" side of the membrane such that the pressure difference between the oil side and the electrical side of the membrane became zero and the light went on. Does this make sense?

In a nutshell, the oil pressure sender is leaking and should be replaced.

Does anybody have a clue what type of sender is needed or what type of thread the sender has?

I understand Holden sells adjustable senders (https://www.holden.co.uk/p/low_oil_pressure_adjustable). Are they fit for the purpose and what pressure should be selected?

Best regards
Beat
