Speedo pinion gear.

Post by Marcel Renshaw »

Just sorting through some spares and came across part number 255571
255570 is for the LQ but I cannot find 255571
Does anyone have any ideas?
Any assistance will be much appreciated.

Metric or imperial, the speedo would almost certainly be the same apart from the speed graduations on the dial and the gears driving the odometer, although personally I would doubt there would have been a metric version in those days, although I may well be wrong! I’m not familiar with the LQ at all, but could it be possible that the car came with 2 different back axle ratios? That would certainly explain the different part numbers to account for the different speeds of the gearbox output shaft.
