Temperature sender

Post by tpickering »

Hello

I am trying to find a supplier of a temperature sender for my 1950 Special Sports.
A previous owner has fitted a modern guage and an electrical sender (and reversed the cars polarity) to get this working.

I want to return to the original setup, can anyone help please?

Thanks

Trevor

The original gauge would have been an AC unit in magnolia, and was a fluid filled variety that had a pipe connected into the thermostat housing.

Suggest you look for a pre-owned unit and look to get if refurbished. (There are a couple of potential suppliers in the uk, but not sure about down-under.)

Btw unit is very similar to the Conquest unit, but has a different temp range shown on the face. This is potentially an option if the ss unit can’t be found.

Transducer, pipe and gauge and all united. Soldered together. Filled with ether. Usually soldering disintergrates and ether leaks out. When resoldering I recommend silver, it is double stronger than tin.
