Hot Spot gasket material (Daimler 15)

Post by captain bobo »

A part of the exhaust manifold on my 1937 Daimler 15 Sports Saloon is coupled to the inlet manifold to pre-heat the fuel vapour. I need to make a replacement gasket to fit between the manifolds that is capable of withstanding exhaust temperatures. The gasket is rectangular, roughly 10cm x 4cm. What material would be the best to use to fabricate this gasket & where might I be able to source it?

Any help and comments most welcome.
Best wishes, Dave B

Hello Dave,

I believe you can get this kind of gasket material in the UK too:

Have a look at google and I guess you'll find something adequate.
