Conquest door seals

Post by Robert Burns »

Hello everyone
I wonder if anyone might tell me where the best resource is for rubber door seals and window seals for my 1955 Conquest.
Thanks in anticipation

Hi Robert,
I am in the process of replacing the door seals on my 1955 Conquest too. I can not find a suppler for the original combined rubber and fabric seals but have found some good alternatives. In the UK we have Woolies https://www.woolies-trim.co.uk and Martrim https://www.martrim.co.uk both of which offer similar products . Woolies offered a P rubber profile https://www.woolies-trim.co.uk/product/search?term=r123 This can be glued to lacing fabric https://www.woolies-trim.co.uk/product/ ... inding-red to achieve a near original product. I opted for the furflex option which is a combined rubber seal and furry edging. It looks great but the rubber is so think that the door catch is not engaging when i close the door. The pinch point is as the seal crosses the door capping . I am planning to trim away some of the rubber to reduce the thickness.
Hope this helps and good luck .
